On the following Saturday night was our Carnival which is a parade of floats, bands and over 2500 performers. Lasted for several hours and easily the biggest one yet.
Yesterday, on Sunday, was the actual Hipica which is a horse parade with over 500 horses and riders. The riders were wearing the finest clothing and the horses were absolutely beautiful with many prancing and dancing down the streets. The crowds were so big that the horses had a difficult time getting through the people.
It was estimated that over 50,000 visitors came to Granada for the events. Many were relatives from United States and other countries of people that live in Granada. Though most of the cities of Nicaragua have their own Hipica, Granada's is the biggest.
