Hello Everyone, my name is Annaelizabeth Blandón-Cajina, and I am the new Director for Puedo Leer Library Foundation.
I moved back to Nicaragua after 30 years of leaving in Canada and USA, to pursue my dream of helping others, also to enjoy what I left behind thirty plus years, my roots, to find my friends, schoolmates, neighbors and family and of course all the amazing Nicaraguan Cuisine that I craved for years..... A lot of things have changed in Nicaragua, lots for the better, once I knew every street around my house in Altamira de Este in Managua, now I am lost just going half a block down. Granada also has changed, this by far is my favorite place, Granada is where most of my family is from and lives, my parents are originally both from Granada but moved to Managua when I was 5 yrs old, attended Colegio Frances for Kinder to 1st grade but after the 1972 earthquake, my parents decided to send my sister Luisamanda and I, to Colegio Pureza de Maria in Managua until 1979, my brother William attended Colegio Centroamerica also in Managua.
In 1979 we moved to Calgary Canada for a year and then settled in Aurora CO, returned to Nicaragua for 2 yrs and attended Colegio Maria Auxiliadora in Granada for HS. Nicaragua is an amazing and unforgettable country, I am very happy to have made the decision to move back, I do miss my Daughter Nicole, my grandson Blake, sister, brother, nieces, nephews, family, friends, but we do keep in contact, well at least my daughter and I text on a daily basis and FaceTime every weekend !! I am very blessed to have the opportunity to do what I enjoy the most, and is helping children as Director of The Puedo Leer Foundation which helps children and adults to love books. Knowledge is power.
